Cure Blindness in Ghana

Since 2009, Cure Blindness Project with partners have restored sight to more than 150,000 Ghanaians. Help us to reach those still waiting in darkness.

An estimated 124,000 Ghanaians are currently waiting for sight-restoring cataract surgery.

One surgery (including materials) costs $80. Donation amounts reflect this. Help one person, two or more.

Donations will support both surgeries and the completion of Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, a center of excellence that will allow for high-quality, weekly cataract surgeries. Please designate your preference at check-out.

Himalayan Cataract Project (dba Cure Blindness Project) is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, and your donation is tax deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. Please keep your receipt as your official record. We'll email it to you upon successful completion of your donation.

Meet Odelia 

Born premature, Odelia is small for her age and is slow to meet development milestones. Mom and baby have traveled a great distance to a Cure Blindness Project-supported outreach.  It's here that Odelia will receive free sight-restoring cataract surgery. 

"Removing the cataracts will guarantee my baby's vision, else she may go blind," says Madam Charity Agana, Odelia's 39-year-old mother.
